AUTISM AWARENESS MUSIC FEST 2009 IN OJAI, CA

AUTISM AWARENESS MUSIC FEST 2009 IN OJAI
HARMONIZING WITH HUMANITY KICKS OFF “AUTISM AWARENESS MUSIC FEST 2009”

April 10, 2009: Ojai, California at Farmer and the Cook

WHAT: Harmonizing with Humanity is a non-profit organization that unites like-minded “positive music artists” and fans who love listening while providing a center point to support important causes. Positive music artists from all over North America will gather at Farmer and the Cook in Ojai, California for the “Autism Awareness Music Fest 2009”. Free to the public, this event will debut the organizations first album launch entitled: “The Life That’s Chosen Me”.

This special event is designed to bring forth the worldwide Autism Community and provide a neutral platform that is inclusive to all opinions and cutting edge resources around this sensitive issue. Ten years in the making, the world’s first ever land yacht will be unveiled as the VIP/green room at Farmer and the Cook and slated for Harmonizing with Humanity’s musical tour bus for 2009. Originally built in 1953, agent to the stars, Phil Berg commissioned General Motors and Greyhound to build this 40-foot tour bus for stars like Lucille Ball, Clark Gable and Joan Crawford. Then, it became the campaign bus for Presidential candidates and Presidents like JFK. The Cub Scouts of Ventura were gifted the bus in the 1980’s.The same “pay it forward” generosity was given to its third owner to uphold the famous music tradition it had grown accustomed to for all its beginning years. Now, nearly sixty years later, The Savitar (means shining wonderer) and Jonathan McEuen (vocal and guitar marvel) is ready to hit the road once again—bringing iconic wonder to cities across America. Maintaining its unique look and feel, this fully covered stainless steel land yacht is draped with the original shot glasses, pencils, ashtrays and paraphernalia one would imagine from a star-studded figure.
“I wanted to honor the metro 50’s vibe,” said McEuen.

WHO: 15 Indie artists from the positive music genre; Jonathan McEuen; Gardner Cole; Faith Rivera; Karen Taylor Good; Harold Payne; Freebo; Melissa Lewis; Ali Handal; Melody Guy; Victor Crowl; Michael Moon, Jackie Lomax, Nathen McEuen, Brendan James (B.Willing) and many more.

WHY: As a father of two autistic boys, Harmonizing with Humanity Vice President, Randy Grossman and his wife have first hand experience as caregivers. “I realized that there are others who are not as lucky as my wife and myself and they are out there feeling very alone,” states Grossman, “We wanted to create something that would serve as a soothing peace to their spirits.”

Harmonizing with Humanity recognizes that music is a powerful force for change in the world. “Our core value is to build this community of “Indie positive artists” to not only help sustain their livelihood, but also as a conduit to uplift the spirits (through music) of all people who are directly involved with a particular cause—especially the caregivers who often are the last ones to be thanked and the most under appreciated, overworked and under paid.”

MORE: The debut of Harmonizing with Humanity’s first album will also take place showcasing 20 sound tracks and Indie artists and original songs. “The Life That’s Chosen Me” is Harmonizing with Humanity’s first project initiative to create a vehicle for donations that will go back to schools for special needs children and organizations highlighting all causes that depend on funding from private sponsors.

Hi fellow HwH members!

First and foremost the best of the season to each and everyone of you during this most special time of the year. As we move from one year into the next we reflect on what will no doubt be looked at as one of the most unusual times of our lives. Between all the economics/politics/war and so many other issues out there it always comes back to the soothing relief that Music brings to communities and individuals alike.

I am so pleased that we are at this point in time where change is in the wings, yes were all trying to survive but better yet is the optimism of the future and that is what brings me to you. Jodi and I had a vision of how we can unite communities through music. Mobilizing a community to unite for a joint cause. The sentiment seems to be there with us. In your emails, out pouring of love to helping your fellow human being and with that we thank you. We feel that by making a difference be it through your music or just by smiling at a stranger you can make the most impact daily. When you have about 16 minutes of your time, please view the video and enjoy.. it's great to think that just a little can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE for others!

                                                                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbk980jV7Ao

From Harmonizing with Humanities family to yours we wish you all a great holiday worldwide and eagerly look forward to the New Year!

Using the HwH Web Site

Hi all,

Well it's been just about a two month period that the HwH web site has officially been operating. The great part is that we learned alot and in it created some new friends along the way.

The excitement of being able to watch it's metamorphosis has been somewhat therapeutical in nature but more impressive is that the union of many artists and fans has developed along the way.

We look at this as a way to enhance the "event" side of things to further promote what you do best! (sing/songwrite, etc.) As much as that we are still in our infancy we believe that with more support from all it will prosper.

The ability of the site is just now populating with some great details. The most important yet under utilized aspect is the event listing that each artist has privy too. It's important that you try and utilize it as that it will aid you in ways that are much more viral in nature. The music cart has been a challenge and we're still trying to get the link just right but keep on trying to load them mp3's up.

The other under utilized area is the marketplace. It allows you to load your products for free to which you can create another way to sell your work. I suggest that you take the time to also ensure that you can make a radio station for yourself to self-promote your music too!

All in all we're pleasantly surprised at the present trend and happy to see that we have so much support for this cause. The upcoming posi awards in Kansas City will also be a sort of anniversary of HwH as that was the original location when we started this whole thing! We plan on attending again and producing the suite jam "pajama jam" again.. souped up!

Please continue to focus on your crafts and spread the word of house concert hopeful's. The object of the game is to create a North American market of house concerts that do not overload the hosts.

Contact your fans, let them know you and other artist are in need of they're help. Let them know that by calling HwH 877-449-4767 they can assist even in they're small way. This is our #1 priority at HwH!

Thanks again and have fun!

Randy

Aloha Bright & Shiny People,

How's summer flowing for you all?!

As always the flow has its peaks - for me its meant...
new babies (no,not mine) & baptisms (we're god-parents to 4 tots so far this year)
big birthdays (like my pop's 65th & my sis' 30th)
probably my best vocal recording to date on "Wind Beneath My Wings" coming on my new cover CD this August
vocal debut on the "big screen" (read "Sci-fi, Spirituality & Singing" below)
my fav - humanity uniting all over the place (read "Humanity's Team & HUB" below) + our own HUB OHANA is now impacting 117 lives in Africa each month!
And just as rich though not as easy, them valleys

the passing of a young dad & friend of my sis, transition of mom & brothers in a months time for a beautiful fan Karen Kaar + life-threatening diagnoses for others
the Brown Family still at a local motel + my own relatives' ongoing struggle overseas
one I've heard alot recently - an experience of not enough resources, money or time
a relatively mini-valley...some detours to "not right" places in the production of my first cover album (I'm sooo used to doing my own music)
Wherever you are this summer in the flow of life, hone in on the present moment & I promise for that instant, there is peace!

The key is to to string together more & more of these present moments where future to-do's & past hurts do not exist - only the bliss of what is!

So CHOOSE JOY you mighty Transformers...oh & please show up with your giddy-selves to my upcoming events, like the beautiful keikis (kids) that sang & danced with me on-stage at my recent Unity of Hawaii concert.

That's all I ask...thank you - come again & yee-ha

Sci-fi, Spirituality & Singing

[cousin & nephew/neice w/ star trek dudes]

Back in the late 70's, I was so in love with Luke Skywalker on Star Wars & Apollo on the tv show Battlestar Galactica. Something about them space-men & that middle-parted hair-do, I guess Not to mention the expansiveness of space & the exploration of the universe really got me too.

In recent years, I've been a fan of the new BattleStar Galactica (BSG) series. I was hooked after I heard the sexy #6 cylon (a robot) say "God is Love" & "There is only one God" while the humans believed in many gods. It blew my mind, so I had to keep watching.

It was fun last week to watch the mid-season finale on the big screen at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood at a special red-carpet event for BSG. Aside from the killer episode, it was the coolest to hear myself with fellow session singers chanting in a strange language (sounded like Samoan fused with old school Latin) during an action sequence then the soaring, ethereal choral part towards the ending.

It was an honor to sing on my first sci-fi with young, amazing composer, Bear McCreary & hear it in all its glory on the movie screen!

BSG picks up next year, so you got lotsa time to rent BSG DVDs & catch up with the spiritual cylons & more!

Humanity's Team (HT)
& HUB Partner Up!

[2004 Concert for HT Leaders]

In 2003, Nolan & I stepped outside of our box to attend our first Humanity's Team (HT) gathering & as those of you know who have been on my email list a while, HT & that whole gathering shaped the direction of our life.

It is no accident that 5 years later, Humanity Unites Brilliance (HUB) strangely flows into our lives & we again step outside of our current box, into yet a bigger one that is truly impacting the globe!

I am so happy to share that Humanity's Team has joined forces with HUB & HT's leaders will be present at the huge sold-out public launch of HUB this coming weekend in Long Beach, CA (yeah that's where we live - no accident either, right?).

New HUB members that have recently signed on include our friend/mentor Mary Manin Morrissey (who graciously performed our 10 year anniversary ceremony last Oct.), authors Jack Canfield & John Gray, plus for our own personal
HUB Ohana we welcome: Judy Kitt - Mom & Philanthropist (Mountain View, CA), Keely Christ - Singer, Songwriter, Artist & Mom(Portland, OR), & Ariana Attie - Positive Music Artist (Tustin, CA)

Charlie, the founder, says they're in talks now with Tony Robbins to join our HUB family! This is just like all those movies I have loved from Star Wars to Chronicles of Narnia to the Lord of the Rings, where all the key players are being brought together for the work & play of collectively transforming our world!

If you feel the call, join us! We've been waiting 4 U!
