The message of all great teachers, prophets, masters and guru's from around the world has been one. No matter which faith, color, creed or societal belief, they each spoke of creating an inner life based on devotion to the Divine. It is not simply enough to say you love God, one has to show ones love by some action or another. Whether praying with prayer beads known as mala, japa, chanting, rosary with repetition of the Sacred Holy Names of God, or whether treating others with love and affection, devotion is expressed outwardly. This is known as Bhakti Yoga. The yoga of devotion. Yoga of the heart. The repeating of any Name of God, whether it be Buddha, Allah, Krishna, Jehova, Christ, Yeshua, Isha, Mohammed, Ram, Shiva, or of any Goddess, such as Radha, Shakti, Kali, Durga, Gaia, Mother Divine, Mary and such, all these Names are invested with Divine power to purify the heart of unwanted things such as lust, greed, envy, hatred, anger etc. Chanting Names in repetative manner, cools the mind and allows one to enter a space of devotion, it is as if the key has turned the lock, and the pathway is open before the seeker. The pathway is One, that path that ultimately leads the soul to the Kingdom which each and every prophet in history encouraged us to seek. But why should we seek out the Kingdom, when we live in a form of paradise here on Earth? I'll let you contemplate that, and I'll write something more on the subject matter in my next blog.
